Junior & Mini’s
Painswick RFC Junior & Mini’s Section was formed in 1999 to enhance the successful senior section of the club. Starting with some 20 children of ages 7 – 10 we have now grown to a club of over 230 children, with teams from U6s through to U18s.
The objective of the club is to provide an environment in which to learn to play the game in a safe and enjoyable way. All coaches are RFU trained and the focus is on participation and having fun.
The rugby season for Juniors/Minis is generally Sep-Apr with the start of each new season, usually the 1st or 2nd Sun in September, seeing a hive of activity with new players being welcomed and past players renewing friendships. As always the club welcomes all new players, boys & girls from U6 right through to U18s and players are welcome to join at any point of the season. Generally, training & matches at home require the players to be at Broadham at 10am with a 12pm finish but there are always exceptions due to demand/supply of the pitches and various Age Groups playing later but as always the respective coaches will keep all informed.
The fixture lists draw on local sides and further afield to introduce other clubs and the spirit of rugby. Tours are organised by individual age groups with trips to Lancashire, Wales, Brean Sands, Dublin and Toulouse in recent years.
